Scripts and Books
 

Among the scripts I have written are three nativity plays including songs. The songs are all on ‘Gifts For The King’. Backing tracks are available as are the scripts and music. These are easily done plays without that cringe factor! I always cringed at the offerings we had to endure when the children came out and did their Christmas play, so one day, after discussing it with my wife, I sat down and wrote an rough outline. I finished the scripts and realised I would have to record the songs to let the children learn the words and that is when ‘Gifts’ was started. Many people said how much they had enjoyed the play and I was happy to write the next years play!
I am always interested in projects to do; my main forte is song writing although I do enjoy script writing. I am currently working on a script by Ian M Butterfield, he is a talented scriptwriter and he asked me to do the songs for his play.
I have also written two short novels, I am looking to have them published in some form or another, about a group of girls. The first is a story of girl meets boy, they fall in love but after a sermon one Sunday, split up. The story then follows Sally as she copes with losing Jim but eventually finds that forever love.
Sally, a young office worker, is the quiet one in a group of girls. Saturday nights are the highlights of their week and the whole week is geared to that. Jayne, Angie, Janice, Jess and Chris know how to have a good night out and men are the main quarry. Sally, meanwhile, is different. She is very choosy, they joke that it would take Superman to sweep her off her feet. At the School re-union he does. They become inseparable but there is something that seems wrong. Jim goes to Church and seems to have a higher moral tone. After a sermon one Sunday he breaks the relationship off.
The story then follows how Sally copes, or doesn’t, how through Ali, Jim’s sister, she meets with God.
There are many funny interludes, Jess and Sally go on holiday and Jess comes back with a fear of lifts! Chris, the loud one of the group, has a passion for kissing! Many other adventures ensue. The second book follows on telling Jayne’s story. A third is in progress!
